JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to guide and enhance our Product Analytics and Experimentation capabilities within the Personalization and Recommendations team. As a member of this cross-functional group, you will collaborate with partners in product, machine learning data science, and engineering by providing analysis-driven, quantitative insights that will inform our products for years to come. The ideal candidate will bring their understanding of how recommendation systems operate and provide business value, along with a deep understanding of customer journeys.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely and collaboratively with team leadership to help shape the vision and strategy for the Personalization and Recommendations team through your quantitative expertise

  • Design rigorous statistical experiments through hypothesis testing, analyze the impact of the team’s efforts, and present insights for the team and our external stakeholders

  • Transform raw data into important and impactful analysis through data governance, technical clarity, and clear documentation

  • Uncover new product opportunity areas to drive impact for the team

  • Build reports, dashboards, and predictive models to monitor the performance of our products

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Professional experience in a similar data science role

  • Fluency with SQL, and proficiency in analytics and data extraction tools, such as Python, Pandas, and/or R.

  • Experience using data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Looker, or other code-based data visualization libraries), as well as what works and what to avoid when visually communicating analyses

  • A deep understanding of online experimentation and the statistical underpinnings of hypothesis tests, as well as an intuition for what might cause anomalous behavior in the data

  • A curious mindset and a drive to constantly learn new techniques and methodologies within product analytics

  • Eager to learn about the latest trends in the AI/ML space

  • A comfort for working in a fast-paced and innovative environment

  • Effective communication skills and an ease with providing information to both highly technical and non-technical audiences

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $140,000.00-187,500.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
