JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Personalization and Recommendations team to help scale our machine learning model development capabilities. As a member of this cross-functional group, you will collaborate with product, other machine learning focused data scientists, and engineers to build custom large-scale models that drive engagement. We are a team of individuals passionate about providing enjoyable user experiences through the application of machine learning for search, personalization, and recommendations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBLITIES

Build machine learning models across all phases of development: from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
Develop models that leverage large volumes of data, optimize their performance, and ensure the scalability of your solutions
Identify opportunities and new applications of machine learning to improve the impact of personalization and recommendations efforts across our product offerings
Research and deliver novel solutions for emerging problem spaces within the personalization machine learning domain
Collaborate with other data scientists, data engineers, and ML infrastructure engineers in this cross-functional team
Promote best practices in machine learning system development, testing, and evaluation

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Experience building machine learning models, with experience and expertise in personalization and recommendation systems, preferably in the streaming video space
A demonstrable track record of successfully training, deploying, monitoring, and iterating on large-scale machine learning models in a production environment
Fluency with Python, and experience developing production models using TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.
Strong experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, and familiarity with Databricks or similar platforms
Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and find creative solutions to business problems
You write understandable, testable code and have an eye towards maintainability
You care about the implications of your work on end users
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative environment
You have effective communication skills, and can discuss highly technical details as well as describe your work to non-technical audiences

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $140,000.00-187,500.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
