WTTG/WDCA – Digital Video Producer (Regular Full-Time)
FOX 5 DC is searching for a Digital Video Producer to own the lifecycle of our video content and its audience growth strategy. The Digital Video Producer is responsible for the developing, planning, producing, editing, and marketing of compelling video and visual content across a variety of digital channels and platforms for FOX 5 DC, including CTV, FAST channels, the FOX5DC.com website and news app, YouTube, and other social media platforms in short, long, and live streaming video formats.

You cannot wait for the next big “pop” of viewers to enjoy your work–and obsess over making that big number the norm. You move fast, but never forget the details.
The Digital Video Producer works with the FOX 5 Newsroom to produce, optimize, and promote a variety of visually-focused storytelling, ranging from real time breaking news that requires immediate action and fast production turnaround times to planned weekly digital streaming shows and day-turn digital segments. This position reports to the FOX 5 DC Digital Content Manager. The role requires a creative, competitive self-starter with strong project management and efficient time management skills that understands the digital video consumer’s behavior across platforms and adapts quickly to the evolving and emerging media environment by monitoring and analyzing audience trends to adjust content and platform strategy, keeping user engagement and experience top of mind.
Primary responsibilities:
Work with FOX 5 DC talent, editorial, production teams and managers to plan and execute daily and weekly digital production
Pitch, develop, shoot, produce, edit, and optimize longform content for CTV app FOX Local’s weekly shows and segments for YouTube
Plan, produce, edit, and post video short form and graphic based social media content and show promotional campaigns for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook Reels
Produce breaking news and live event streams for FOX Local, FOX5DC.com, and YouTube
Program the streaming schedule for CTV, FAST, and website, prioritizing the user experience and analyzing audience data to optimize content delivery for user behavior
Work with Digital Content Manager to analyze data for audience engagement, targeting and experience, and measure and report video content KPIs across platforms
Additional video editing and project support for Creative Services department as needed
Skills:
Experience editing short and long form video content for streaming or digital platforms
Digital content and audience data analysis: Experience with Adobe Analytics, Tableau, and/or Excel or Sheets tracking and analysis preferred
Strong news judgment and knowledge of current events and social media trends
Knowledge of digital trends and video content creation best practices for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram; experience with FAST channels/CTV preferred
Video-focused search engine optimization (SEO) and content optimization knowledge
Video camera photography, audio, and lighting experience
Video storytelling, writing, and storyboarding
Strong writing and copy-editing skills
Video and graphics edits in Premiere or Edius; Photoshop, Express
Familiarity with live stream production
Excellent organization and project management
Ability to focus on the details while moving quickly in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines
Qualifications:
2-3 years editing, reporting or producing in a TV or digital news video production environment
Degree in communications, media, journalism, or similarly applicable areas of study
Must submit portfolio with clips of long and short form digital video content
This position is required to work at least one weekend day per work week, as well as the occasional full weekend. Schedule flexibility is a necessity in the case of breaking news on nights and weekends.
