JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Digital is looking for a full-time SEO Production Assistant to join the team! You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that writes, produces, and optimizes news content to drive organic traffic for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. You will need to be a fast, accurate writer and researcher and strong understanding of SEO with a broad range of interests: from politics and business to entertainment and lifestyle to US and world affairs. If you want to write multiple stories a day and want to become experienced in news SEO, this could be your dream job.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform keyword and topic research using SEO tools and software (Google Trends, Google Search Console, Trisolute)

• Include basic SEO best practices throughout content production

• Assist management in SEO content strategies and data collection

• Research, write, and produce multiple assigned short to long-form articles a day in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Select and add multimedia features to articles (video, images, slideshows)

• Adhere to detailed article templates and word counts

• Produce compelling photo montages and illustrations

• Incorporate edits from supervisors

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Knowledge of and interest in SEO and driving organic search traffic

• Experience working with SEO softwares including Google tools

• Experience working in a CMS (WordPress preferred)

• A track record of great writing, preferably involving reporting and research (clips/portfolio expected)

• 1 year working in a news environment

• Ability to work under deadline pressures

• A wide range of interests and deep knowledge of news and pop culture

• Photoshop, Illustrator experience

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

• Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $18.25-25.00 per hour for California, Washington, New York City, Washington, D.C. and Westchester County, NY. $15.00-20.75 per hour for Colorado. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
